Acne is every young adult’s worst nightmare and every pharmacist’s best friend. Nothing is quite as scary to the average high schooler than having to show up to homeroom with a few spots and some will hide in the back row rather than be seen, or worse, photographed in such a condition. Even worse, no acne medication is universally effective. Different people get different results from various anti-acne products. On the bright side, simple measures can be used to ward off acne.
Turn off the computer games, limit your TV watching, and go outside for a bit. Exercise is good for you and can help prevent acne. Avoid overexposure to the sun and tanning in general, as UV rays can dry your skin.
Another simple way of preventing acne is to avoid touching your face. Be conscious of when you do it. . Most people touch their faces more than they are aware of doing.
A healthy diet can curb acne. Having more natural produce and less snack food is a start. Especially focus on foods with high anti-oxidant content such as blueberries.
One other way of doing things is to wash your face. Just do this for a minute or so and use lukewarm water. Using less moisturizer or less makeup can also help as it keeps your pores clearer. If you use styling gel in your hair, be sure to keep it off of your face.
Different races can be more susceptible to acne. Lighter skin is often not as badly affected as black African skin, although the acne itself is often more noticeable.
Of course, if things are really bad you should look into seeing a dermatologist. Acne is harmless but it can leave scars in some situations. . .
